Description: After the World War I smith Ignotas returns home where finds changes being in process. The new communist ideas spread in his home village. Rich farmer and a count are in conflict with villagers. The villagers support communists in their village. Ignotas enters to communist movement. For the fighting with local bourgeoisie they need to have guns. Ignotas goes to Vilnius to fined support and guns. In Vilnius Ignotas meets with a group of communists who had been established a local Soviet Council and are going to start armed rebellion. Ignotas takes part in communist movement very active. After he had failed an action to find guns he and his communist friends get to jail. Started revolution liberates all prisoners. Ignotas joins to the revolution, fights against government army and are injured. The old intellectual doctor and his communist daughter Aldona treat and hide Ignotas. The doctor has doubts about communist truth but he loves a daughter and hides and treats Ignotas in his flat until he recovers. Later Ignotas returns back to his village with a strong hope in Communism victory and the truth of communist ideas. He starts to spread communist ideas in his village and encourage his neighbours to fight for the best, communist future.
